APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. Achieves We Honor Veterans Partner Level One
APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. is proud to announce that it has achieved the level one partnership for the We Honor Veterans program, reflecting our commitment to ensuring that veterans have access to quality end-of-life care.
We Honor Veterans is a program of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs which focuses on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment.
One out of every four dying Americans is a veteran, according to the NHPCO. “The VA is actively seeking better ways to care for the men and women who have served our country in the military,” says Mary Wallace, Administrator at APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. “As part of this effort, we provide education to our staff and volunteers so that we are better able to serve the men and women who have given so much for our country. “
APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. became part of the We Honor Veterans program to strengthen its initiative of reaching out to local veterans. “APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. is honored to deepen its commitment to the men and women who served our country,” Wallace says. “At APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc., we will continue to expand our understanding of veteran-specific needs by partnering with local, state and national veterans and hospice organizations.”
