The philosophy of hospice care is the belief that everyone has the right to dignity and freedom from pain at the end of life. Our commitment to this philosophy includes creating personalized care plans, which give patients the specific care they need and deserve.

The purpose of hospice is to provide individualized and ethical care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs of people in the last phase of life, dying from a terminal illness. Hospice reflects a spirit and philosophy of caring that emphasizes comfort and dignity for the dying.

From the first recognition that the patient is a potential candidate for hospice to the point of their passing, the APEX Hospice and Palliative Care team’s goal is to provide as much communication and interaction with the patient’s primary care physician as he or she wishes.

At APEX Hospice and Palliative Care, our volunteers are a treasured member of our patient care team, providing compassionate care and enhanced services to our patients and families. Whatever the task might be, volunteers are deeply involved in the team approach that defines Apex Hospice.
